Precautionary Principle Over the years there has been a great deal of controversy over the application of the precautionary principle to risk-based decision making. Dr. Kumanan Wilson is conducting a survey to ascertain the current level of understanding and application of the precautionary principle by decision makers within the Government of Canada. If you have been mailed a survey you may complete it online here. By completing this survey you will aid in increasing our understanding of the use of the Principle by senior decision makers.
